Zhao Lusi Posts Final Message, Deletes Social Media Overnight, Hints at Being Pushed to the Brink by Esther Yu
Zhao Lusi has accused a rival of deliberately smearing her to ruin her reputation, before abruptly announcing the deletion of her personal account.

After a string of controversies over allegedly profiting from a rural assistance campaign, Zhao recently claimed she was “sabotaged” right in the middle of a livestream.
“They’ve been preparing for this for a long time, setting up accounts and controlling public opinion. Why would someone go out of their way to smear another person? Because if it were fair competition, they wouldn’t stand a chance.
Doing shady little tricks like this only shows a petty mind. You might be steady on the inside, but your vision is so narrow. At first, you were probably just waiting for me to lose my contract so you could take my place, right? Too bad I renewed it—frustrated much?” Zhao said.
She also sent a direct warning to the person she believes targeted her:
“You’d better stop provoking me, or I’ll spill all those unpleasant things from your past. And when that happens, you won’t be so comfortable either.”
Her remarks sparked backlash online. Instead of defending her, many netizens expressed irritation that she was constantly livestreaming, throwing shade at someone without naming names, and providing no concrete evidence of sabotage.
Previously, the 90s-born actress stirred controversy when she brought up an incident involving an artist who had reversed a car on a highway. Bloggers speculated she was referring to Esther Yu.
In 2024, Esther Yu became embroiled in scandal when the vehicle carrying her illegally backed into the emergency lane of a highway to evade obsessive fans following behind. The fans’ car also reversed, leading to police fines.
Meanwhile, Zhao faced accusations of exploiting agricultural aid for personal gain. Observers discovered that the “Aaaaapple” juice brand she promoted had shareholders linked to Xiamen I Am Very Busy—a company partly owned by her close friend Sun Jiaman, with whom Zhao had previously opened a dessert shop.
The juice’s price was reportedly far higher than the market average, with the profit margin going not to farmers but to the brand’s owner (Yan’an Little Fruit Co.) and its affiliates (Xiamen I Am Very Busy). Zhao’s repeated mentions and direct purchase links were suspected to be free advertising for her friend’s business.
Zhao has since deleted her personal Weibo account. Her final post included a portrait, a screenshot confirming her account deletion, and a photo with the words: “More peace, less chaos; more blessings, less worries.” She captioned it: “Truly want to help farmers, also want to delete my account. Bye bye.”
Following this string of livestream rants, Zhao Lusi’s public image has taken a visible hit. Meanwhile, her dramas Lover and Let Me Shine still have no confirmed air dates.
