Zhao Lusi Deletes Weibo Amid Livestream Controversies and Management Disputes
Zhao Lusi’s Weibo Account with 31.22 Million Followers Officially Vanishes — Fans Fear She May Retire
On August 19, Zhao Lusi’s verified Weibo account with more than 31.22 million followers disappeared, sparking speculation that the rising star might be leaving the entertainment industry.
According to Epochtimes, the actress deleted her account after posting a farewell message: “I really want to help farmers, but I must cancel my account. Goodbye.”
She also uploaded three photos: a screenshot confirming her account cancellation, a candid picture of herself in a white T-shirt, and an image with the quote: “More peace, less chaos. More blessings, less stress.”
Zhao Lusi revealed that as a VIP user, she was given a 15-day grace period before account termination. However, she emphasized that she had already contacted all her brand partners and that this was not an impulsive decision — she had thought it through carefully.

Online speculation linked her decision to recent controversies. In her livestreams, Zhao promoted agricultural products from small farmers, but was later accused of secretly endorsing a friend’s company. These allegations were eventually cleared, and she was officially recognized as qualified to serve as an “Agricultural Support Ambassador.”
On August 17, Zhao Lusi further announced that she would no longer participate in commercial events such as fashion weeks. “I feel exhausted doing anything,” she confessed, adding that any defamation against her would be dealt with through legal channels rather than social media.
In recent years, Zhao has faced disputes with her management company, alongside mounting health and mental stress. She has frequently expressed feelings of helplessness during her livestreams.
Born in 1998, Zhao Lusi is considered one of China’s most popular actresses, with hit dramas including Love Like the Galaxy, Hidden Love, and The Long Ballad.
