Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards Are Officially Starring in the Filipino Adaptation of “Start-Up”
After months of speculation, we finally have our very own Seo Dal-mi and Nam Do-san. In a broadcast of news program 24 Oras, GMA formally announced that Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards are starring in the Philippine adaptation of the hit 2020 K-drama Start-Up.
“This is my first K-drama adaptation project, parang ang sarap lang sa pakiramdam na mabigyan ng opportunity to do something na hinahanap ng audience,” Alden says in an interview with show biz correspondent Nelson Canlas.
His leading lady, Bea, admitted that this project was offered to her even before she formally signed with the network. “It is one of the reasons why I decided to become a Kapuso,” she states. In a previous vlog of hers, the actress expressed that she was one of the many viewers who got hooked on the K-drama when it premiered back in 2020.
Filming for the romance series is currently underway. No word has been given on who will reprise the principal roles Kim Seon Ho (Han Ji-pyeong) and Kang Han Na (Won In-jae) fulfilled in the original version. Although, GMA has stated that they have “certain surprises” in store for audiences who have seen the original drama, and those who have not.
