According to authorities, the Penthouse 3 star was arrested at 11pm on June 19 (local time). The police received a report from the public about a man driving under the influence of alcohol. Through security camera footage, the traffic police determined that the vehicle that had traveled more than 5 km belonged to Song Young Kyu and stopped the vehicle to arrest him. Test results showed that Song Young Kyu’s blood alcohol concentration exceeded 0.08% – the level that results in his driver’s license being revoked under Korean law.
Song Young Kyu stated that he had been drinking with an acquaintance before deciding to drive home by himself.
