Kim Ji Won Makes Comeback After Queen of Tears
Kim Ji Won Will Team Up With Kim Woo Seok in New Drama Following “Queen of Tears”.
On July 26, Osen reported that actor Kim Woo Seok will be joining SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia”, starring Kim Ji Won as the female lead.

“Doctor X” is introduced as a dark, thriller medical work where the main character, Dr. Gye Soo Jung (Kim Ji Won), must confront the absurdity and darkness in the medical profession with her genius surgical skills.
The drama is written by screenwriter Pyeon Seong Geun, directed by director Lee Jung Rim, and co-produced by Studio Dragon and Studio S.
Kim Woo Seok will play the intern doctor Park Tae Kyung, who has a fateful connection with Gye Soo Jung.
This is the work that marks Kim Woo Seok’s return after 3 years since the movie “The Forbidden Marriage” (2022). This is also the first time Kim Woo Seok and Kim Ji Won have collaborated.
Meanwhile, “Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia” is especially notable because this film is Kim Ji Won’s first comeback work after the success of the TV series “Queen of Tears” aired in 2024.
“Queen of Tears” starring Kim Ji Won and Kim Soo Hyun broke the record of “Crash Landing on You” (starring Son Ye Jin, Hyun Bin) to become the highest rated drama in tvN history (rating 24.85%), and the 3rd highest in the history of Korean cable channels.
The character Gye Soo Jung in “Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia” is a genius surgeon with a dark past who was exiled because of her own talent. Kim Ji Won will take on a complex character, promising to be a much-anticipated transition from the romance genre to the heavy-duty psychological-crime genre.
“Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia” is expected to start filming in the second half of this year and air in 2026.
