Korean showbiz shock: “Penthouse” actor Song Young Kyu was found dead unexpectedly in his car
Actor Song Young-kyu, who faced public backlash over a charge of drunk driving, has suddenly passed away.
On the 4th, according to MBN, Song Young-kyu was found inside a vehicle in the Cheoin District of Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, around 8 a.m. The police, who were dispatched after receiving a report, are investigating the details of the case.
The funeral hall has been set up in Room 1 of the Davos Hospital funeral home in Cheoin District, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The deceased’s wife and two daughters are listed as surviving relatives. The funeral service is scheduled for 8 a.m. on the 6th, and the deceased is expected to rest at the Hambeoksan Memorial Park.
Song Young-kyu was caught driving intoxicated for about 5 kilometers in the Giheung District of Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on the night of June 19th. The police were dispatched after a witness report, and his blood alcohol concentration was at a level that would result in license revocation (above 0.08%).
This news came to light a month later. Due to this incident, Song Young-kyu withdrew from the drama “Tri” and the drama “The Defects” and the play “Shakespeare in Love.” However, he departed this world suddenly without any apology or explanation, leaving many feeling bitter.
