Actor Yoo Ah In and rumored boyfriend escorted in handcuffs to a temporary detention facility by the police.
On the afternoon of May 24th, Yoo Ah In and his rumored boyfriend Choi Ha Neul were escorted to a temporary detention facility while awaiting the court’s consideration of arrest warrants requested by the prosecutors. Yoo Ah In appeared at the questioning session earlier that day and admitted to a significant part of the drug-related allegations. However, he denied the information that he helped his accomplice flee the country. In front of the reporters’ cameras, the actor in his 80s expressed remorse for using prohibited substances.
A few days ago, the representative of the central district prosecutor’s office in Seoul announced that they had decided to request arrest warrants for the “Youngest King of Photos” and his accomplice. On May 22nd, KBS News reported that Yoo Ah In was accused of assisting the fugitive to leave South Korea while being investigated by the police for drug use. Inside sources revealed that the police were concerned that Yoo Ah In was trying to destroy crucial evidence related to the case.

Previously, the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) had requested the police to investigate Yoo Ah In since November 2022, after discovering that the actor regularly received Propofol prescriptions from multiple hospitals in 2021.
The police collected samples for testing from the Veteran actor starting from February 5th, right after his arrival at Incheon Airport. Up to now, Yoo Ah In has been found positive for five banned substances, including Propofol, marijuana, Ketamine, Cocaine, and Zolpidem.
