Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee vs. Ex-Driver Totoy: Theft Claims, Torture Allegations and the Mystery of the “Sensitive Photo”
The Philippine entertainment industry has been rocked by a shocking legal battle involving Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee and a former driver known as Totoy — a dispute now spiraling into serious allegations of theft, physical abuse, and the disappearance of a highly sensitive personal photo.
Second Theft Complaint Filed

According to Philstar, Michelle Dee has filed a second theft complaint against Totoy at the Makati Prosecutor’s Office. The man previously worked as a driver for actress Rhian Ramos and became the center of controversy after Dee accused him of stealing a red envelope containing 10 valuable personal items — including what she claims was a private and sensitive photograph.
Dee initially filed a qualified theft case, leading to Totoy’s detention at the Makati City Jail. However, prosecutors dismissed the complaint just three days later, stating there was insufficient basis for the charges. He was subsequently released.
Authorities explained that the complaint needed to be refiled to comply with proper legal procedures and investigative requirements — prompting Dee to submit a new complaint.
Her lawyer, Maggie Garduque, said prosecutors will now conduct a preliminary investigation to determine whether enough evidence exists to pursue qualified theft charges.
Missing Photo Sparks Controversy
Garduque revealed that nine out of the ten allegedly stolen items were recovered with the help of Totoy’s wife. One item, however — reportedly containing Dee’s private photographs — remains missing, fueling the ongoing legal fight and public speculation.
On January 19, Dee and her legal team brought Totoy to the Makati police station to file charges again. He was detained but released on January 22 after prosecutors dismissed the complaint.
Driver Fires Back With Explosive Allegations
The drama escalated on January 28 when Totoy filed his own complaint against Michelle Dee, actress Rhian Ramos, and Miss Grand Philippines 2021 Samantha Panlilio.
He accused them of illegal detention and severe physical torture, claiming he was beaten multiple times on January 17 — an ordeal he said drove him to the brink of suicide. At the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Totoy reportedly displayed bruises and injuries, alleging they were the result of physical assault.
Strong Denials From Dee and Ramos
Both Dee and Ramos have categorically denied Totoy’s accusations. Their legal representatives insist the driver’s claims are false and misleading.
As of February 2, the NBI confirmed it is reviewing all statements and evidence submitted by both sides to verify the truth behind the explosive allegations.
Reputation on the Line
With lawsuits flying in both directions and serious accusations dominating headlines, the ongoing feud has become one of the most controversial celebrity legal battles in the Philippines this year — potentially impacting the reputations and public image of the beauty queens involved.
For now, the case remains under investigation, leaving the public waiting for answers amid a swirl of sensational claims, legal maneuvering, and a mysterious missing photo at the heart of the scandal.
