The incident occurred in January at an apartment complex in Gangnam, Seoul, when a security guard in his 60s was brutally attacked by a delivery worker following an argument. The delivery worker had attempted to enter the complex despite there being no designated parking for him on the ground floor.
When the security guard tried to stop him, the worker violently assaulted him. According to a witness, the attacker punched and kicked the guard while shouting, “Do you know who I am?”
Amid the crisis, a resident rushed to intervene, scaring off the attacker. However, the aftermath was severe—the security guard suffered serious facial injuries and took more than three weeks to recover, even having to quit his job. The incident was covered on JTBC’s Crime Chief, drawing widespread attention from the South Korean public due to its brutality.
Initially, the identity of the courageous resident remained a mystery. However, it was recently revealed that the person who stepped in to protect the security guard was none other than DJ Tukutz of Epik High. In a recent YouTube video, when fellow member Tablo asked why he hadn’t spoken about the incident earlier, Tukutz simply replied, “Why would I?”
