Actor Yu Menglong Passes Away at 37 After Falling From a Building
Chinese actor Yu Menglong has died after falling from a height at the age of 37. The shocking news began circulating online around noon on September 11, but it wasn’t until that evening that his studio officially confirmed it.

On the evening of September 11, Yu Menglong’s studio released a statement confirming his passing:
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Yu Menglong, whom we dearly loved, passed away on September 11, 2025, after falling from a high floor. Following an investigation, police have ruled out any criminal involvement. May the departed rest in peace, and may those left behind stay strong.”
The initial report came from blogger Xiao Yan. According to insiders, on the night of September 10, Yu Menglong went to a friend’s house for dinner with five or six others. Around 2 a.m. on September 11, he entered a bedroom and locked the door. At 6 a.m., when his friends were leaving, they could not find him and later discovered his body downstairs.
A neighbor walking their dog reportedly witnessed the scene and called the police. Sources said Yu still had two Rolex watches belonging to his friends in his pocket, and the mosquito net on the window had been pried open.
Some of Yu’s colleagues initially posted condolences online but later deleted them. Many fans hoped the news was fake until the studio made the official confirmation that evening.
Reporters also discovered through Tianyancha records that Yu Menglong’s two companies—Shanghai Qimeng Film & Culture Co., Ltd. and Xianmeng Dongyang Film & Culture Co., Ltd.—had already been dissolved. In recent years, Yu’s career had stagnated, with little activity.
Born in 1988 in Ürümqi, Xinjiang, Yu Menglong rose to fame playing the Ninth Prince Qi Han in Go Princess Go. He later starred in hit dramas such as Eternal Love, Twist of Fate Love, The Legend of White Snake, and more recently appeared as Li Chuan in Ever Night: Star River and Xuantiang Jia in River of Time.
