Crisis Erupts: Mexico’s President Orders Investigation — Will the Entire Miss Universe 2025 Results Be Thrown Out?
Mexican media is reporting a shocking twist: the results of Miss Universe 2025 may be completely annulled, and newly crowned queen Fátima Bosch could be stripped of her title.
The world’s leading beauty pageant is plunging into an unprecedented crisis as both former MUO owner Anne Jakrajutatip and current president Raul Rocha face serious legal trouble. Rocha has been indicted on explosive charges — drug trafficking, illegal fuel distribution, weapons smuggling, and involvement in organized crime — sending shockwaves across the globe.
According to the Inquirer, the President of Mexico has ordered an urgent investigation into the allegations against Raul Rocha, as well as the alleged prize-fixing scandal behind this year’s Miss Universe results. Prosecutors from Mexico’s Organized Crime Office have already requested an arrest warrant for Rocha.
Sources inside the organization told Mexican outlets that the entire results of Miss Universe 2025 are set to be voided following Rocha’s arrest. If confirmed, Fátima Bosch will lose her crown, and Victoria Kjær Theilvig — Miss Universe 2024 — will resume the role of reigning queen.
The scandal deepened immediately after Fátima Bosch’s coronation. Composer Omar Harfouch, a member of the judging panel, announced his resignation and accused the MUO of rigging the results. He claimed the new Miss Universe won through connections rather than merit:
“Miss Mexico is a fake winner. Twenty-four hours before the final, I said on America HBO that Mexico would win because President Raul Rocha was doing business with her father. One week before the final, Rocha and his son told us that we had to choose Mexico because it benefitted their business.”
Just three days after the pageant ended, Olivia Yacé of Ivory Coast — a fan-favorite expected to win — shocked the public by relinquishing her Fourth Runner-Up title and withdrawing from all MUO activities, allegedly out of frustration with the controversial outcome. Yacé had delivered one of the strongest performances and was widely predicted to take the crown.
For now, Raul Rocha has not responded to reports of his prosecution. The Miss Universe Organization has remained silent about Fátima Bosch’s fate and has not addressed claims that the newly crowned queen is on the verge of being dethroned.
