The 37-minute “threatening” recording involving Kim Soo Hyun
Just after being cleared of dating allegations with Kim Sae Ron, Kim Soo Hyun is now facing new controversy. Sulli’s older brother claims he possesses a 37-minute recording containing sensitive content about the actor.
According to News1, Choi — the older brother of the late singer Sulli — has once again drawn public attention after posting a message believed to be related to Kim Soo Hyun. Choi asserted that he holds a 37-minute recording featuring sensitive discussions involving several celebrities, as well as details about his sister’s past private life.

He revealed that the recording mentions IU, Lee Ro Bae, Kim Soo Hyun, SM Entertainment, and certain aspects of Sulli’s personal life.
Choi stated: “I have many questions I want to ask, but I’m holding back for the sake of my mother. Last year, I only briefly mentioned the film, and I had no intention of pursuing this issue further. I want to make it clear that nothing I’ve said is false.”
On May 21, Choi wrote on his personal account: “The moment you crawl out, that will be round two. The choice is yours.” This post is also believed to be directed at Kim Soo Hyun.
Sulli’s brother continues to attract attention with new statements related to Kim Soo Hyun.
Previously, Choi accused a staff member from Kim Soo Hyun’s team of forcing Sulli to film nude and bed scenes when she participated in the movie Real. According to Choi, the original script did not include specific descriptions of such scenes. However, Sulli was later allegedly pressured into filming them despite the presence of a body double on set.
The film Real was directed and produced by Lee Ro Bae, also known as Lee Sa Rang, who is Kim Soo Hyun’s cousin.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s side stated: “She fully understood and agreed to the revealing scenes from the time she signed the contract until filming. She completed the filming professionally.”
Choi’s latest statements have once again stirred public debate, especially at a time when Kim Soo Hyun has just been cleared of previous allegations.
Recently, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sought an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui, the representative of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute. Kim Se Ui, along with the family of actress Kim Sae Ron, had accused her of dating Kim Soo Hyun while she was still a minor. However, the police determined that all these claims were false. They concluded that screenshots of conversations, audio files, and recordings allegedly featuring the deceased’s voice — presented by Kim Se Ui as evidence — were fabricated.
In March 2025, YouTuber Kim Se Ui caused a public uproar by claiming that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship from late 2015 to July 2021. Notably, during that time, Kim Sae Ron was still underage. Kim Soo Hyun’s side later acknowledged the relationship but denied the timeline, stating that it lasted from summer 2019 to autumn 2020 — after the actress had already reached adulthood.
