On the morning of April 11th, Segye reported that actor Ahn Jae Hyun (from the drama “My Love from the Star”) was a guest on the KBS2 program “Problem Child in House.” There, the 1987-born actor caused a stir when he revealed he had been involved in a serious traffic accident.

It is known that at the time of the incident, Ahn Jae Hyun was sitting in a taxi when another vehicle suddenly crashed into it. After the horrific collision, the actor suffered a fractured pelvis, broken ribs, and even a brain hemorrhage. Furthermore, the handsome actor had to be hospitalized for six months to fully treat his serious injuries.
After a horrific traffic accident, Ahn Jae Hyun slowed down and took time to reflect on himself. During this time, he discovered the career he wanted to pursue long-term – modeling.
The star of “My Love from the Star” revealed that his connection to modeling stemmed from a magazine: “After recovering from the accident, I went to a bookstore and happened to see a magazine prominently displayed. At that moment, the thought flashed through my mind that if I did a job related to my looks, I could make a lot of money. Since I’m tall, I felt that trying modeling wouldn’t be a problem.”
However, Ahn Jae Hyun’s path to becoming a model was far from smooth, despite his advantages in looks and height. The actor bitterly recounted a difficult period in his career: “After being discharged from the hospital, I rushed to find modeling academies. There was one system where if you paid three months’ tuition and performed well, you would have the opportunity to become a professional model and sign a contract with the company. However, I was rejected.”
Faced with this early setback, Ahn Jae Hyun didn’t give up and remained determined and steadfast on the path he had chosen. According to the star of “My Love from the Star,” luck finally smiled upon him: “After being rejected, I followed the advice of a senior in the industry, created my own profile, and sent it everywhere to promote myself. Fortunately, I unexpectedly won first prize at a competition organized by the Asian Model Association. I am extremely grateful to that senior for giving me such helpful advice.”
In a recent television appearance, Ahn Jae Hyun openly shared about the humiliations he experienced when he first started his career: “I once received an offer to do a commercial shoot with Lee Soo Hyuk. I heard the commercial would be displayed in subway stations, so I was very hopeful and excited. However, when the final product came out, Lee Soo Hyuk was prominently featured in the center, while only a part of my face appeared in the commercial.”
Despite this, Ahn Jae Hyun didn’t lose heart. He encouraged himself, saying, “I still feel very happy. Actually, the photoshoot with Lee Soo Hyuk was also a way to gain experience in the profession.” After that, he continued to work hard to quickly rise to the top and achieve many major milestones in his career. Besides shining on the fashion runways, Ahn Jae Hyun also ventured into acting and made his mark on screen.
