According to a report by Hankook Ilbo on March 5, Rowoon who is currently serving in the military has confirmed his appearance as a storyteller for the military content series The Day’s Military Story and is preparing for filming. The program is produced for the channel KFN Plus, operated by the Ministry of National Defense’s Defense Media Agency.

The Day’s Military Story features celebrities serving in the military who act as storytellers, introducing historical events and notable figures related to the armed forces. The series previously drew attention with appearances from celebrities such as actor Song Kang and Taeyong of NCT.

Cha Eun Woo also joined the program last year and appeared in four episodes as a storyteller. However, after tax evasion allegations surfaced, all videos featuring him were removed from the channel, sparking speculation about who would take over the role. Currently, the videos in which Cha Eun Woo appeared are listed as “unavailable,” having been set to private.

With Rowoon stepping in as the new storyteller, the series is expected to begin a new chapter.

Rowoon enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army on October 27 last year. Although he was originally scheduled to enlist on July 21 of the same year, he was temporarily assigned a Grade 7 reexamination during the physical evaluation process. After filing an appeal and undergoing another assessment, he ultimately received clearance for active-duty service and enlisted.

Following the completion of his basic training, updates about the star were shared through the social media account “Rowoon Cine,” run by his agency FNC Entertainment. The account posted a photo of him in military uniform with the caption “Private Kim Seok Woo,” revealing his current status in service.

Rowoon first debuted in 2016 as a member of SF9 before establishing himself as a prominent actor. Starting with School 2017, he went on to star in popular dramas such as Extraordinary You, She Would Never Know, The King’s Affection, Tomorrow, Destined with You, and The Matchmakers, steadily building his reputation in the acting industry.

After leaving SF9 in 2023, Rowoon shifted his focus fully to acting. In particular, his performance as Jang Si Yul in the Disney+ original series The Murky Stream showcased a striking transformation and further proved his versatility as an actor.
