Philippine Beauty Queen Gunned Down at 32
The Philippine pageant community is reeling after the shocking murder of Lullete Jane Ramilo-De Guzman, Miss San Manuel and the 2013 Miss Earth Philippines runner-up, who was fatally shot at just 32 years old.
According to Philippine Daily Inquirer, police confirmed that Ramilo-De Guzman was gunned down inside her vehicle in front of her residence in Barangay Cabaritan, Philippines, on February 13.
Shot Inside Her Car
Authorities revealed that the former beauty queen was sitting inside her car with her children when her father stepped out to open their gate. At that moment, an unidentified gunman riding a motorcycle without license plates approached and fired multiple shots at her.
Ramilo-De Guzman sustained gunshot wounds to the face and torso and was declared dead on the spot. She was later confirmed deceased at Manuel Roxas District Hospital in the town of Roxas.
Miraculously, her three children were physically unharmed — but left deeply traumatized after witnessing the brutal attack on their mother. The suspect fled eastbound along the national highway in District 3 of the town and remains at large.
Investigation Underway
Police Major Rogelio Natividad stated that investigators are looking into possible personal motives, including connections to her professional life or other underlying issues.
“We still do not have any clear leads regarding the motive or the suspect. We are processing evidence and continuing our investigation,” Natividad said.
Authorities are also awaiting forensic laboratory results to determine the type of firearm used in the killing. Residents have been urged to report any suspicious individuals to help prevent similar incidents.
Boyfriend Speaks Out
Ramilo-De Guzman’s boyfriend, Clifford Dela Cruz, was attending a seminar in Manila when the shooting occurred. He immediately rushed home upon learning of her death.
In an emotional Facebook post, Cruz condemned the murder, particularly the fact that it happened in front of their children. He also suggested that some individuals may have harbored resentment toward Ramilo-De Guzman due to her anti-bullying advocacy work.
A Promising Life Cut Short
Before rising to national recognition, Ramilo-De Guzman won the title of Miss San Manuel. She later became runner-up at Miss Earth Philippines 2013, where she also earned several special awards.
She held a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna-Isabela.
Her tragic death has sent shockwaves through the Philippine beauty industry, with fans demanding swift justice and a thorough investigation to bring her killer to account.
A vibrant life, a devoted mother, and a passionate advocate — gone in a hail of bullets.
