Police Reveal Cause of Sudden Death of Korean Actor Jung Eun Woo!!
Actor Jung Eun Woo (real name Jung Dong Jin), famous for his role in the drama *Bride of the Sun*, passed away at the age of 40.
The Gyeonggi Police Office released an initial statement regarding the actor’s death: “Medical reports and archived medical records show that Jung Eun Woo struggled with depression before his death. We offer our condolences to his family.”
Although the cause of death is being kept secret at the family’s request, it is understood that he chose to end his life due to years of depression.

Earlier, on February 11th, Korean media reported the death of actor Jung Eun Woo.
His remains are being kept in Special Room No. 2 at the funeral home of New Korea Hospital in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province (South Korea). The funeral procession took place at 12 PM on February 13th, and the burial place was Byeokje Crematorium.
His last Instagram post read: “Longing, envy, regret. PIR.BG.” Along with that, he shared images of the late artists Leslie Cheung and Amy Winehouse – both of whom had taken their own lives.
The late actor graduated from the Department of Theater and Film at Dongguk University and debuted in 2006 with the drama Round Off 3 (KBS). He became known to audiences when he was cast in the lead role in the drama Bride of the Sun (SBS, 2011).
He then delivered impressive performances in SBS dramas such as *Five Fingers*, *A Well-Grown Daughter*, *Strangers* (2012), earning him the New Star Award at the 2012 SBS Drama Awards and the Special Acting Award for Short/Special Drama at the 2013 SBS Drama Awards.
He also appeared in the long-running drama *Golden Rainbow Returns* (SBS, 2015), the weekend drama *My Only One* (KBS2), and most recently, the film *Memory: Manipulated Murder* (2021).
In a 2015 interview with BNT News, Jung Eun Woo shared his passion for acting: “I’ve played supporting roles, minor roles, and even lead roles. If I had become famous too early at a young age, I probably wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now. I could be materially wealthy, but I wouldn’t be happy. I want to be an actor that people remember with love.”
Therefore, his passing has caused even more heartbreak for his fans.
