Philippines Beauty Queen Found Dead at Home at Just 22
The Philippine beauty pageant community has been left in shock by the sudden death of Miss Progress Philippines 2025, Nicole Magallanes Parayno, who passed away at the age of 22. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
On January 15, multiple Philippine beauty pageant news outlets simultaneously reported that Nicole Magallanes Parayno had died unexpectedly. As of now, no official information has been released regarding the circumstances surrounding her passing.
In a statement, Nicole’s family shared their grief:
“With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of a young, beautiful soul full of life and promise.”

Born in 2004, Nicole Magallanes Parayno was a model under Crowns and Sceptres Modelling Agency. At just 20 years old, she gained public attention after competing in Miss Posture Philippines 2024, where she was named First Runner-up and won several special awards, including Best Interview, Best Long Gown, and Best Talent.
She later went on to be crowned Miss Progress Philippines 2025, earning the right to represent her country at the 10th Miss Progress International pageant in Italy. At the international competition, Nicole received the title Miss Progress International Internet.
Beyond her pageantry career, Nicole was a final-year student majoring in Radiologic Engineering at Far Eastern University. She was also a mother to a young daughter.
In recent days, Philippine beauty pageant fans have been confronted with consecutive tragic news. Prior to Nicole’s passing, Miss Universe Philippines 1989 Sarah Jane Paez-Santiago died at the age of 58, with no cause of death publicly announced. Her wake was held in Makati, Philippines, from January 15 to 18.
The sudden death of Paez-Santiago also sent shockwaves through the beauty community. Numerous individuals and organizations shared tributes online, including Binibining Pilipinas and Miss International Philippines 1991 Patty Betita.
Born in 1968, Sarah Jane Paez-Santiago won the Binibining Pilipinas title in 1989 and represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 1989 pageant in Mexico, where she did not place. That year’s crown went to Angela Visser of the Netherlands.
