Social Media Erupts Over Report of Korean Female Singer Caught in Elevator Affair
Social media has been set ablaze with reports alleging that a Korean female singer was caught having an affair in an elevator.
According to the claim, the wife involved in the case had been a full-time homemaker for 20 years and was left deeply shocked after discovering that her husband was having an affair with a well-known female singer.
The latest episode of JTBC’s program Case Chief revealed that a popular trot singer is embroiled in an adultery lawsuit. The show also released CCTV footage allegedly showing the singer engaging in intimate behavior with a man inside an elevator. The accusation reportedly came from “a housewife who had lived a secluded life for 20 years and was devastated to discover her husband’s infidelity.”

The wife tearfully recounted her experience, saying: “They claimed they were just friends. When I told her to stop contacting my husband or I would take legal action through her agency, I found out they were actually living together. When the two were together, they hugged, kissed, and behaved intimately. Before sending a formal legal notice, I gave her one last chance. I said, ‘Please give my husband back to me,’ but she replied, ‘I never took your husband—why are you asking me?’ and told me not to contact her again.” However, after the wife officially filed a lawsuit, the singer reportedly rushed to contact her.
Case Chief further stated that the singer rose from obscurity after placing in the top 10 of a trot survival audition program in 2019 and is currently appearing on another show on a cable TV channel. When contacted by JTBC, the singer said, “I don’t know what to say, but I am also a victim. If I were an ordinary person, this wouldn’t be an issue. I am very sorry. I’ve lost everything. My livelihood cannot be cut off—I have parents to support.”
The singer attempted to explain that she began the relationship believing the man was already divorced. He allegedly told her he would marry her once the divorce proceedings with his ex-wife were finalized. She claimed that after learning the divorce was not mutually agreed upon, she ended the relationship.
After the episode aired, netizens began aggressively searching for the singer’s identity and pointed out multiple similarities with trot singer Sook Haeng. The outfit worn by the singer in the program had previously appeared in photos Sook Haeng posted on social media. She also placed in the top 10 of a 2019 trot competition and subsequently rose to fame. Currently, Sook Haeng is appearing on MBN’s cable program King of Singers 3, which aligns with the details revealed in the broadcast.
On December 30, Sook Haeng posted a handwritten apology on social media, stating, “I sincerely apologize for causing concern due to my recent personal issues.” She announced her withdrawal from all ongoing programs to prevent further damage. She also apologized to fellow artists and production staff, pledging to reflect deeply on her actions and become a more responsible person.

Regarding the adultery allegations, Sook Haeng said, “I will reveal the full truth through legal procedures in the future. I ask that excessive and unnecessary reporting be restrained, as the indiscriminate spread of unverified information could cause irreparable harm to me, my family, and the programs I have participated in.” The case remains a major topic in South Korea, topping Naver’s real-time search rankings on December 30.
