Beauty blogger Lee Da-sol passes away at age 29
The Asian beauty community is shocked as Daddoa, one of the early icons of the Korean beauty blogger scene, passed away on December 16th.
The information was posted on December 25th by Leferi Beauty Entertainment, Daddoa’s management company (real name Lee Da-sol, born in 1996).
According to the announcement, Daddoa passed away on December 16th. The company and family have decided not to disclose the specific cause of death.
At the same time, Mr. Choi In-seok, a representative of Leferi, also requested that the public and media respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time, avoiding unfounded speculation so that the deceased can rest in peace.
“Daddoa wasn’t just a first-generation YouTuber; she was also the first to demonstrate the globalization potential of the Korean beauty industry,” he said.
As the news spread, many long-time followers expressed their condolences in the comments section of her YouTube videos.
“Even if you don’t upload videos, I hope you’re doing well somewhere. I hope you rest in peace in heaven and no longer suffer the pain you endured,” and “Thank you for taking care of my beauty during my teenage years” were some of the comments from fans.
Daddoa began her content creation career in 2015 and quickly became one of the top Korean beauty YouTube bloggers with over 1.2 million subscribers. She was loved for her delicate features, skillful makeup techniques, and approachable speaking style.
Daddoa had previously shared that she was a victim of school bullying. She said in a video that those emotional wounds were what prompted her to turn to makeup as a shield to boost her confidence.
