Murakami Shingo’s agency, Starto Entertainment, confirmed the happy news. Alongside the announcement, Murakami shared a handwritten letter expressing gratitude to his fans and reflecting on his career.

As I approach my 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry, I’ve experienced many highs and lows, but I’m grateful to be where I am today — and I will be getting married. Since my partner is not a public figure, I ask for your understanding and privacy. I’ve always been supported by my bandmates and fans, and I’ll continue working hard to repay that love with my future activities,” he wrote.

In July, Japanese media outlets reported that Murakami had been seen with a young woman believed to be his girlfriend. The reports claimed she is in her 20s, making her roughly 20 years younger than the 43-year-old idol.

Murakami debuted in 2004 as a member of SUPER EIGHT, one of Japan’s most beloved idol groups, known for their humor, charisma, and strong fan base. Over the years, Murakami has also built a successful solo career as a television host and entertainer, admired for his professionalism and charm.

Fans have congratulated the couple across social media, celebrating Murakami’s new chapter while respecting his request for privacy.
