Lee Jin Ho’s Girlfriend Found Dead at Home — Public in Shock
The South Korean entertainment industry has been left stunned after reports emerged that comedian Lee Jin Ho’s girlfriend was found dead at her home — just days after she was allegedly the one who reported him to the police for drunk driving.
According to Chosun Ilbo, the Bupyeong Police Department (Incheon City) confirmed that the woman was discovered dead around 8:30 a.m. on October 5 at her apartment in Bupyeong District. A friend who came to visit her first found the body and immediately notified the authorities.
A police official told Chosun:
“No signs of foul play have been found so far. We are currently investigating the cause of death, but we cannot disclose further details. It is also too early to confirm whether her death is related to the report she made about Lee Jin Ho.”
On September 24, Lee Jin Ho was arrested for drunk driving while traveling from Incheon to Yangpyeong (Gyeonggi Province). He was released after questioning.
Although the police never publicly revealed who reported the case, some media outlets mentioned Lee’s girlfriend’s name, linking her to the incident. Korean media also reported that the woman had shown signs of emotional distress and anxiety prior to her death.
Many netizens have since expressed deep sorrow and criticized the press for carelessly publishing her identity and private details.
Born in 1986, Lee Jin Ho is a well-known figure in the Korean comedy scene. He debuted in 2005 through SBS’s Gag Concert and later appeared in popular variety shows like Comedy Big League (tvN) and Knowing Bros (JTBC).
However, his career has been overshadowed by multiple scandals. In October 2024, Lee publicly admitted that he was being investigated for illegal online gambling and announced a hiatus from showbiz. Less than a year later, in September 2025, he was again arrested for drunk driving, drawing widespread criticism.
