Graphic Injuries In Yu Menglong’s Alleged Autopsy Report Trigger Public Outrage
37-year-old Chinese actor Yu Menglong died on September 11 after suffering a fatal fall. Investigators have “ruled out any criminality” surrounding his death, but an alleged autopsy report seems to suggest otherwise.

On the night of his death, Yu reportedly attended a gathering with over 10 people at a friend’s home. According to his mother’s statement, Yu “had a fatal fall from height after consuming alcohol.”
Screenshots of Yu’s alleged autopsy report state that the autopsy was commissioned on September 13th by the Jiatai Police Station in Beijing, China, and performed on September 14th by Beijing Shengtang Forensic Appraisal Center. According to this report:
The deceased was 181cm tall, with normal development and average nutrition. [His] skin was pale yellow, with no enlarged lymph nodes found. Postmortem lividity (referring to the discolouration of skin after death) was dark red, found on the back of the head, neck, back, lower back, and lower parts of the limbs, with lividity unresponsive to pressure. Postmortem greening had begun forming on the abdomen.

The report provided in-depth details about the deceased’s injuries, stating that Yu’s scalp showed signs of trauma that may have been caused by pulling. All but one of his bottom teeth were lost, his nose bridge had been broken, bloodstains were found in his ear canal, and the inside of his bottom lip had a 3cm cut. Another 7.5cm long cut was also found on his body.
According to these alleged documents, Yu suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including fluid around his heart, internal bleeding in his chest, multiple fractures on the left side of his chest, liver lacerations, cardiac arrest, and genital tears. In addition to genital tears, the report mentions “evidence of sexual assault,” that have sparked public outcry.
According to forensic analysts, some of Yu’s injuries aren’t consistent with those that usually happen when someone falls from a great height. For instance, genital tears and organ damage are indicative of abuse, and total tooth loss and lip lacerations are more commonly caused by assault or blunt force. These outliers suggest that Yu suffered multiple injuries before he fell.
However, the autopsy report’s authenticity has not been verified. According to some reports, the report’s format and wording bear a strong resemblance to an autopsy report from 2012, and entire sections of Yu’s alleged autopsy report appear to match another medical report that has been online for years. Regardless, reports state that the public is now questioning China’s forensic system and demanding that Yu’s full autopsy report be made public.
