On the evening of February 10, Heraldpop reported that actress Jeon Ji Hyun had to pay an additional 20 million won after undergoing a tax investigation. Korean media commented that the tax investigation of the My Love From The Star beauty is related to real estate transactions.
Remember, Jeon Ji Hyun bought a 5-story shopping mall in Gangnam (Seoul) in 2007 for 8.6 billion won. In 2021, she sold the building for 23.5 billion won and earned a profit of 14.9 billion won. Not only that, a year later, the famous actress bought an apartment on the top floor of the famous Acro Seoul Forest building for 13 billion won.
On February 10, Jeon Ji Hyun’s representative officially clarified the actress’s additional payment to the National Tax Service: “Jeon Ji Hyun underwent a tax investigation in 2023, but there were no serious problems. There was a difference in the views of Jeon Ji Hyun’s accountant compared to the Tax Service regarding how to handle expenses when calculating taxes, and this led to a mismatch between the two parties in some items. As a result, Jeon Ji Hyun had to pay an additional 20 million won in additional tax.”
The representative of the 1981-born actress continued to reassure fans: “Paying additional taxes is a normal phenomenon. And the additional payment by Jeon Ji Hyun has no connection to any illegal activities.”
