On the morning of December 24, KBS 1TV’s “Morning Yard” featured singer Kim Jaejoong and his mother Yoo Man-soon as guests.

Kim Jaejoong had previously revealed that he was adopted into a family with many daughters at the age of three. He has eight older sisters, and their close bond was highlighted when they appeared together on KBS 2TV’s “Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant”, drawing attention and admiration.

During the broadcast, Kim Jaejoong’s mother spoke about the circumstances of his adoption. She explained how an acquaintance had encouraged her to take in Kim Jaejoong, “An acquaintance told me, ‘There’s a child in need of a home, you should raise him.’ I replied, ‘I already have so many kids, I don’t think I can.’ But the acquaintance said, ‘If it’s you, you’ll do well.’ Then I saw the child—his eyes were so bright, and he was adorable. I thought, ‘How could anyone leave a child like this?’ So, I held him. He clung to me and called me, ‘Mom, Mom.’ Those words struck my heart. At that moment, I decided, ‘You will be my son from now on.’ He held onto my neck tightly and called me mom.” She continued, “I thought, ‘I may not be able to raise you well, but let’s live together and try our best.’ We didn’t have much, but I accepted him, thinking, ‘Let’s raise him in our home, surrounded by his siblings.’”

Kim Jaejoong’s mother became emotional, saying, “He grew up to be such an incredible person and a dutiful son. I don’t think there’s another son like him in the world. I’m so grateful.”

In response, Kim Jaejoong expressed his gratitude, “Thank you. No matter the circumstances, I think raising me healthily was everything. After appearing on ‘Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant’, many people asked questions. They called me a filial son, but it’s just something natural. It wasn’t anything special—it was simply natural to appear on the show.”
