Shin Min-ah played Son Hae-young, an expert in profit and loss calculation who hates deficits in life and love, in tvN X TVING’s drama “No Gain No Love”, which ended on October 1st.

Known for melting viewers’ hearts with her charming performances in many romantic comedies, Shin Min-ah once again showcased her talent in “No Gain No Love”, perfectly embodying her character Son Hae-young and proving herself as an unrivaled rom-com queen.

In a post-drama interview held at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on October 2nd, Shin Min-ah said, “I’ve been doing romantic comedies for a long time. If a good project comes along and I like the character, I always want to keep expressing it because I really enjoy rom-coms. Even if different types of rom-coms come in, I’d like to continue expressing what I can.“

The positive reviews from viewers gave her a lot of energy. She said, “When the drama started, my friends liked it a lot. I enjoy doing comedy, so when people say it’s fun or that the character is funny, I get really excited.”

During the drama’s press conference, Kim Young-dae confessed his admiration for Shin Min-ah, “I was so nervous when I first met senior Shin Min-ah because I had really enjoyed her past works. To me, she is a celebrity.“

Shin Min-ah reflected on their on-screen dynamic, “In the drama, we consistently used formal language. There was respect between the two characters, a bit of distance, but also a closeness that gradually developed. That aspect created a sense of tension for me with Kim Young-dae until the end of the drama. However, the subtle tension and growing emotions in the story were similar to how I felt in reality.”

She added, “I think Kim Young-dae will show even better sides of himself in the future. He’s someone who will continue to take on more projects. A lot of people loved our couple and his character Ji-wook. I believe he has a bright future ahead.”

Shin Min-ah has been in a public relationship with actor Kim Woo-bin since 2015. In a recent interview commemorating his appearance in Netflix’s “Officer Black Belt”, Kim Woo-bin said, “I don’t feel any pressure from the public’s support for our relationship. In fact, I’m very grateful for the encouragement. She’s such a wonderful person, and I’ve been positively influenced by her. She told me she enjoyed the movie.“

When asked about Kim Woo-bin’s reaction to “No Gain No Love”, Shin Min-ah smilingly replied, “He told me he enjoyed it.“

On whether the attention surrounding their relationship is still burdensome, Shin Min-ah responded, “The topic itself isn’t burdensome, but I do worry that it might affect our work. Since this is a romantic comedy and viewers are cheering for the couple in the drama, I feel it’s best not to talk about it out of respect for my partner.“
