20-Year-Old Thai Singer Dies After Massage: Shocking Testimony from Victim’s Mother
Ping Chayada’s mother shared details about her daughter’s death, including the unusual symptoms after the massage and the doctor’s response.
Ping Chayada, a 20-year-old Thai singer, passed away on December 8 after experiencing severe health issues following a massage. Ping Chayada underwent a neck and shoulder pain massage but unfortunately had her neck twisted by the masseuse, leading to full-body paralysis and her eventual death.
On December 9, Thairath reported that Chanthakan Prawhom, Ping Chayada’s mother, shared details about her daughter’s tragic death.
According to her mother, Ping began complaining of persistent neck and shoulder pain in October. Unable to massage her daughter due to a recent surgery, she recommended Ping visit a traditional massage center in Udon Thani with her boyfriend.
However, after the first session, Ping exhibited unusual symptoms, such as paralysis, trembling, and difficulty moving. Despite this, she attended two more sessions, but her condition worsened, causing severe pain and near immobility. Concerned that her daughter had suffered a dislocated cervical vertebra, Chanthakan rushed Ping to a hospital, but doctors dismissed her suspicion and refused to conduct an X-ray.
Chanthakan recounted, “The doctor examining Ping at Udon Thani Hospital didn’t believe that a typical neck and shoulder massage could cause a dislocated vertebra. They even suspected my daughter of using drugs when they saw her hands trembling. Ultimately, they only prescribed painkillers and sent us home, despite our request for an X-ray.”
Ping Chayada was later taken to other hospitals for further examination, where X-rays confirmed a cervical vertebra dislocation. She was then readmitted to Udon Thani Hospital for treatment. However, her condition worsened rapidly, leading to brain inflammation, sepsis, and severe pneumonia. She was transferred to the ICU for emergency care.
Chanthakan revealed that on the night of December 7, doctors called her to ask whether she wanted Ping Chayada to be placed on life support in case her heart stopped. Chanthakan declined, knowing her daughter’s condition was beyond recovery. “I knew Ping wouldn’t stay with us much longer. Her lungs were severely swollen, and the sepsis had spread to her brain,” she said tearfully. After over a month of fighting, Ping Chayada passed away on December 8 at the age of 20.
Ping’s tragic death has sparked outrage in Thailand, with criticism directed at both the massage parlor and the initial doctor for negligence. Authorities are investigating the massage center for proper licensing, while medical experts warn against aggressive neck manipulation, which can damage blood vessels and cause paralysis or death.
Meanwhile, Ping Chayada’s boyfriend announced plans to sue the massage parlor for twisting her neck, leading to cervical vertebra injury, paralysis, and ultimately her death. The public remains shocked and heartbroken over the singer’s tragic passing.
