Goo Hye-sun Reveals She Was Betrayed by Friends, Losing Money and Even Her Paintings
Goo Hye-sun opened up about being betrayed by people close to her

On the October 17th broadcast of KBS 2TV’s “Let’s Live Together with Park Won-sook”, Goo Hye-sun and Kim Mi-ryeo shared their experiences of being hurt by acquaintances.
After Kim Mi-ryeo revealed that she had been financially exploited and blackmailed with breast photos, Goo Hye-sun shared her own story, “I often lent money to friends who were going through tough times. I would think, ‘They must have been really desperate to call me.’ So, I gave them the money, thinking I just wanted to help them solve their problems. Even though they didn’t repay me, I told them, ‘You can pay me back later.’ But it hurt when I realized they were lying, and this happened repeatedly. Eventually, I thought, ‘Maybe I did something wrong.’ If I had said no from the beginning, maybe the relationship could have been maintained. I didn’t know that saying no sometimes was the key to keeping relationships.”
Goo Hye-sun revealed that she had lent up to 10 million KRW per person. Park Won-sook commented, “That’s less than what Hyeeunyee lost.” Hyeeunyee sympathized, “But if it’s 10 million KRW and there are 10 or 20 people…”
Goo Hye-sun added “I gave money to many friends”, to which Park Won-sook responded, “Hyeeunyee has become really smart about losing money. She knows well enough not to be taken advantage of by just one person.”
Goo Hye-sun then shared another painful experience, “Many of my paintings have been stolen. I once loaned 20 paintings and only got 18 back. As an artist, of course, I noticed. But when the other person denied it, I just said ‘Oh, I guess I only sent 18’ and let it go. Later, I saw the missing paintings at an auction.”
She revealed that the price of her artwork was 1 million KRW per piece, adding, “Some of my paintings take a year to complete.” Goo Hye-sun explained how she handled the situation, “I sent a message saying, ‘I know everything. I hope you don’t think you can keep deceiving me.’ After that, they tried really hard to be honest, and I’ve since maintained a distant but cordial relationship.”
Hyeeunyee said, “Being hurt by people you trust is the hardest thing to deal with.”
