Police Officially Reveal Cause of One Direction’s Liam Payne’s Untimely Death
The results of singer Liam Payne’s autopsy have been released. Days before his death, the singer suffered a major blow related to his work and personal life.
Liam Payne’s cause of death was revealed a day after the former One Direction member fell from a hotel balcony.
Preliminary autopsy results showed that Payne suffered multiple injuries that led to internal and external bleeding, according to Page Six.
“Our job was to get there quickly, provide medical care and try to resuscitate him, but the victim’s injuries were beyond saving,” said emergency room doctor Alberto Crescenti about the injuries that led to the 31-year-old star’s death.
“Based on what we found, it was clear that there was a skull fracture and other extremely serious injuries that led to immediate death,” the medical expert added.
Crescenti declined to comment on whether Payne was under the influence of drugs at the time of the tragic incident and urged the public not to “rush” to speculation while awaiting the results of a more thorough autopsy.
According to many Western media sites, Liam Payne’s hotel room had alcohol and drugs strewn about. Some images have been circulated.
The autopsy report added: “There were injuries consistent with the way the victim fell, which may have meant that Payne had no reflexes to protect himself and fell in a semi-conscious or unconscious state.”
The British singer was found falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Payne was just 31 years old. Police said Payne suffered “extremely serious injuries” and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Buenos Aires Public Security spokesman Pablo Policicchio told the Associated Press that the former One Direction member “committed suicide from the balcony of his room.”
Police were called to the hotel after receiving an emergency call reporting “an aggressive man who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
Officers at the scene heard a loud noise and discovered Payne’s body in the hotel courtyard. The singer had fallen from a height of 13-14m. It is still unclear whether Payne’s fatal fall was intentional or not.
Before his death, the singer shared many happy photos of his personal life on his personal page. He recently attended a concert with Niall Horan – also a former member of One Direction.
