Blackpink’s Lisa criticized for allegedly lip-syncing at Global Citizen Festival
Lisa, a member of the K-pop group Blackpink, faced public backlash for her apparent lip-sync performance at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City.

According to the Daily Mail, Lisa took the stage at Central Park for the high-profile charity event, where she performed alongside stars such as Post Malone and Doja Cat. During the event, the Blackpink star debuted her latest single “Moonlit Floor” and also performed popular tracks including “Lalisa,” “Money,” and “New Woman.”
Her appearance drew attention for her bold outfit—a black and yellow bodysuit paired with leather hot pants, silver fringe, lace-up boots, and her signature flowing brunette hair. Many fans also praised her commanding stage presence.
However, her vocal performance left some fans disappointed, with many online commentators noting that she appeared to be lip-syncing throughout the performance. Social media quickly filled with criticism.
“Lip-syncing while sitting down with no choreo is crazy,” one fan commented.
“This girl is allergic to singing live, the queen of lip-sync,” another fan remarked.
This isn’t the first time Lisa has faced accusations of lip-syncing. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, she also faced similar criticism during the 2024 MTV Music Video Awards in September.
The singer has yet to make any public statements addressing the issue.
Lisa, 27, born Pranpriya Manoban in Thailand, joined Blackpink in 2016 and launched her solo career in 2021 with the album “Lalisa.” Her single “Money” made her the first K-pop artist to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify, solidifying her as both a music sensation and a fashion icon with over 103 million Instagram followers.
She also made history by winning the Best K-pop award at the MTV VMAs for her song “ROCKSTAR,” becoming the first K-pop solo artist to achieve this milestone.
