Revealing the real cause of death of the 33-year-old Dubai prince.
Prince Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 33 years old, son of the King of Dubai, suddenly passed away on September 19, 2015. This is one of the mysterious deaths of the Dubai Royal Family.
On September 19, Prince Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 33 years old, son of the King of Dubai, suddenly passed away. Many questions have been raised as to why a healthy man passed away at such a young age?
The official cause of death was given as a heart attack, however there is some information that the Prince abused drugs and steroids (a substance that increases endurance during sports training). However, that is only the appearance.
Prince Rashid was born in 1981, the son of Sheikh Mohammed, the King of Dubai, and Sheikha Hind, the Queen. The couple married when she was only 17 years old, their wedding cost up to 100 million dollars, the first lavish event in Dubai.
From a young age, the Prince experienced a high-class education. As a child, Rashid studied at the prestigious boys’ school in Nad Al Sheba, then transferred to Sandhurst in the UK – a university that trains top military officers for the UK and graduated in 2002.
Returning to Dubai, Prince Rashid had an extremely prominent personal profile, having partnerships with a series of large domestic enterprises. After that, the prince opened a number of companies for himself, most notably the United Group Holdings Dubai multi-industry investment group.
Like his father and brothers, Prince Rashid is very fond of horse racing and then Rashid founded an international horse racing tournament called Zabeel Racing. With a huge fortune of up to 1.9 billion USD, Rashid has never been in a difficult situation in business due to lack of capital, always stable on the top of victory.
In 2006, the Prince became a national hero when he brought home 2 Gold medals at the Asian Games. But less than 1 year later, Sheikh Rashid almost disappeared from community activities, did not appear in public and by 2008, he was officially stripped of the title of Crown Prince.
During that time, the prince’s older brother, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, 31 years old, was appointed Vice President to rule Dubai. The reason was only explained that Maktoum was suitable for this position.
However, a scandal ensued, with Prince Rashid allegedly killing an assistant in his office. The identity of the ill-fated assistant was never revealed, but many believed that a battle for the succession between the princes was indeed taking place.
Then came other allegations. An underground royal party was held in the Saudi capital Riyadh, with drugs and sex. Consul General Martin Quinn wrote in dispatches that the behind-the-scenes scene of the party was very flashy, bustling, and showed off wealth.
Martin Quinn also noted that the party used a lot of drugs, marijuana. Most of the members attending the party were from the aristocracy and the Royal family, including Prince Rashid. The prince’s drug use was not revealed until three years later, when Rashid took office as president of the UAE Olympic Committee, often tired and blaming it on a “heavy workload”.
Mr Ali, an aide who regularly interacted with the royal family, said Prince Rashid suffered from drug addiction rather than fatigue from work. He also said the prince had to go to rehab in 2009.
The prince died on 19 September 2015. The cause of death was announced as a heart attack, but the death was predicted early by royal observers, many of whom believed that Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed was behind it all to pave the way for Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed to replace him as heir to the throne.
Other claims have also emerged, one of which is that staff working in Prince Rashid’s home lived in a “climate of fear”.
The charges were dismissed by the Court, and the Prince himself and the Royal Family will not face any charges. Since then, there has been little information about Prince Rashid, and his brother Hamdan has been seen in public with the King.
On 19 September 2015, it was announced that Prince Rashid had died at the age of 33. The funeral lasted for three days and the prince was buried at Umm Hurair Cemetery in Dubai.
