Seoul Yongsan Police drops Yoo Ah In’s sexual assault case due to ‘lack of sufficient evidence’
According to media outlet reports on September 19 KST, the Seoul Yongsan Police has decided to drop Yoo Ah In’s sexual assault case due to a “lack of sufficient evidence”.
Previously, an accuser ‘A’ reported Yoo Ah In to the police for sexually assaulting them at a home in Seoul on July 14. According to existing laws on sexual crimes, the actor was charged with sexual assault equal to rape, as the incident involved a victim of the same sex.
After a round of questioning both the accuser and the accused, the police have determined that the case lacks sufficient evidence to be forwarded to prosecution.
Meanwhile, in other news, Yoo Ah In was sentenced to 1 year in prison plus a fine of 2 million KRW on September 3 KST for violating the Narcotics Control Act and for attempting to destroy evidence.
