Prince Harry Saddened by the Royal Family’s Repossession of His Wedding Gift Home!
Prince Harry has expressed his sadness over having to leave Frogmore Cottage, a place he once thought would be his and Meghan Markle’s “forever home.” Instead of becoming a long-term residence, Frogmore ended up being just a brief stop before they settled in California.
In his memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry shared his feelings about being forced to leave Frogmore Cottage, which he and Meghan Markle had considered the first home for their family. The house, given to them as a wedding gift by Queen Elizabeth II in 2019, underwent extensive and costly renovations funded by public money. However, after they decided to step down as working royals in 2020, the couple was required to move out.
Harry wrote, “Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. But in the end, it was just a brief stop.” This statement came during a meeting between Prince Harry, Prince William, and King Charles, where the current king requested that the couple vacate Frogmore Cottage.
According to an undisclosed source, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer renting Frogmore Cottage. The source said, “That privilege has been revoked. They have no more opportunities to stay in the UK. If they want a place here, they will have to purchase it privately.” In June 2023, the couple returned the keys to Frogmore Cottage and moved their remaining belongings to Montecito, California.
Speculation about the next occupant of Frogmore Cottage has increased with rumors that Prince Andrew might move from the Royal Lodge, where he has lived for the past two decades. However, according to a report by the Telegraph, Prince Andrew has no plans to leave the Royal Lodge and intends to maintain the lease he signed in 2003, which still has 55 years remaining.
Recently, Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife, addressed the rumors surrounding the move to Frogmore. In an interview, she said, “You can’t believe everything you read. I just live one day at a time.”
In 2023, King Charles reportedly reduced Prince Andrew’s budget, putting pressure on him to move out of the Royal Lodge. The reason lies in Prince William’s ongoing efforts to force his uncle Andrew out of the Royal Lodge, which has 30 bedrooms. According to journalist Richard Kay, William is believed to have longstanding dissatisfaction with Andrew due to his unfriendly attitude when he first introduced Kate Middleton to the royal family.
