“I’m going to try again,” Actor Ji Soo hints at career comeback four years after school bullying controversy
Actor Ji Soo, who had halted his activities due to controversies surrounding school bullying, has expressed his intention to make a comeback after four years.
On August 24 KST, Ji Soo hinted at his return in a video titled “Movie Vlog Documentary EP. 01 The End of Tunnel” uploaded to his YouTube channel ‘Ji Soo Road.’
In the video, he shares, “A lot has happened over the past four years. I completed my military service and resolved misunderstandings with the friends who spoke out about the issues involving me. Now, I’m slowly preparing to start again.”
During one portion of the video, Ji Soo also revisits Seoul’s Daehangno neighborhood, reflecting on his early days as an actor when he followed his acting teacher and lived a life immersed in theater. He emphasized returning to his roots and also mentioned that he had been diligently studying English for potential international projects, expressing a desire to work on English-language films.
In March 2021, Ji Soo became embroiled in controversy when allegations of school bullying surfaced online. At the time, Ji Soo admitted to some of the accusations, issued a handwritten apology, and stepped down from the drama he was starring in.
In May of the same year, he terminated his exclusive contract with his agency, KeyEast, and in July, he filed a defamation lawsuit against those who first made the allegations. However, the accused were acquitted. Ji Soo then enlisted in the military, serving as a social service worker, and was discharged last October.
