On August 19, Nation Thailand reported that actor Kewpie Chindanai caused a tragic accident on the Chao Phraya River, killing 2 people and injuring 2 others.
At the time of the accident, he was carrying his girlfriend and her mother on a jet ski. They went from Chom Thong, Bangkok to Phra Pradaeng for dinner. After dinner, on the way home, the accident happened. The jet ski driven by Kewpie crashed into a ferry carrying passengers from nearby residents.
The accident caused serious consequences. Two people traveling with Kewpie were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized at Paolo Hospital Phra Pradaeng. Meanwhile, the ferry driver and a 44-year-old female passenger are missing. The only survivor was Mr. Mongkol Sawat, the husband of the female passenger.
Mongkol Sawat said that at that time, they were crossing the river on a small ferry when they collided with Kewpie’s jet ski, throwing both the boat driver and his wife into the sea.
After the accident, rescuers quickly arrived at the scene and searched for the missing people in difficult conditions due to strong currents and heavy rain. After 6 hours of effort, the bodies of the ferry driver and the female passenger were found at the bottom of the Chao Phraya River.
In response to Thai media, Kewpie said he was shocked and regretful when the accident happened. According to Kewpie, at that time, he could not avoid the ferry because it had no lights or signals and the area was quite dark.
Kewpie was determined not to have consumed any alcoholic beverages. Kewpie’s mental state is currently very unstable. He constantly torments himself for the consequences of the accident.
