This Korean Star Couple Got Married After Breaking Up Once
Not many people know that Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung actually broke up once before they successfully tied the knot

Known as one of the representative star couples in the Korean entertainment industry, Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung held their wedding in August 2013.
On a broadcast, Lee Min-jung revealed how she met Lee Byung-hun for the first time as well as behind-the-scenes stories of their marriage. Recalling the past, the actress said, “I first got to know him at a dinner gathering. I was 25 back then and had just started acting”. After dating for a year, the two parted ways as Lee Byung-hun went abroad for his activities. Lee Min-jung shared, “Back then, I just debuted and still had a lot of enthusiasm for acting. We no longer met each other due to differences in opinions”.
Three years later, the two reunited like fate. Lee Byung-hun called Lee Min-jung when he was filming abroad and that call became the opportunity for them to meet each other again. It is known that Lee Byung-hun called Lee Min-jung because the actress appeared in his dream while he was filming “G.I. Joe” in the US. Lee Min-jung explained, “I told him that we could meet when he returned to Korea. We reunited, and from then on, we started to develop love for each other again”.
Lee Min-jung later postponed her marriage due to her passion for acting. However, she eventually opened up her heart because of Lee Byung-hun’s patient wait and sincere love. The actress said, “My husband told me that he could wait longer if I were to marry him and asked me to make a decision. I didn’t think I would be able to meet someone I loved this much again, but I was still greedy for work. Therefore, I made that decision”. Lee Min-jung added that she got married at the age of 32 but that was the best decision in her life.
Lee Byung-hun also mentioned his dream of Lee Min-jung while filming overseas on a broadcast. Thanks to his call, the two were able to meet each other again and overcame their breakup to develop deeper love.
Regarding their marriage, Lee Min-jung said, “There’s nothing stressful about our marriage. When I get angry, I tend to scream out loud and forget about it quickly. He (Lee Byung-hun) is the type of person who endures well when I hit him”, adding “He’s very nice and gentle and he matches my energy very well, while Mom and Dad always tell me to calm my temper down”.
Having their first son in 2015, Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung have been enjoying their happy married life. They welcomed their second daughter in December 2023. Many people are jealous of Lee Min-jung as she was able to protect both her acting career and her family even after marriage.
