Korean star couples break up right after making their relationship public
It’s sad that these famous couples haven’t stood the test of time.
Although dating is a normal part of growing up, it is considered taboo for celebrities in Korea.
Despite the initial stigma, many actors and idols are having relationships that are made public through Korean media or their own announcements.
Sadly, most relationships don’t last for a variety of reasons, and breakup announcements tend to come soon after announcing they’re a couple.
Below are famous couples who broke up not long after announcing their relationship to the public.
1. Lee Jae Wook and Karina (aespa)
The most recent breakup was between actor Lee Jae Wook and aespa’s Karina. After meeting at a fashion event earlier this year, Dispatch revealed in February that the two had developed feelings and were getting to know each other.
Sadly, on April 2, the two announced their separation due to schedule-related reasons as well as backlash from fans.
2. Jisoo (BLACKPINK) and Ahn Bo Hyun
Many netizens were shocked when Jisoo (BLACKPINK) and actor Ahn Bo Hyun were revealed to be dating in August 2023.
Apart from some private photos of the two stars said to have been taken while they were dating, their relationship is very private.
Sadly, because of their busy schedules, Jisoo (BLACKPINK) and Ahn Bo Hyun announced their separation in October 2023.

But sadly, the news that the couple had broken up was announced in August 2017, just four months after Dispatch revealed the news.
6. Yubin (Wonder Girls) and Kwon Soon Woo
In May 2023, Yubin of Wonder Girls announced her relationship with tennis player Kwon Soon Woo.
They got into controversy after fans asked the couple to break up because of Soon Woo’s anger during a game. After that, the couple decided to break up in October of the same year.
