SM Entertainment Files Lawsuit Against EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, And Xiumin To Enforce Their Contracts
SM Entertainment has announced that they are taking a legal action against EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin (EXO-CBX).
On June 13, SM Entertainment shared, “We have filed a complaint against Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin with the Seoul Eastern District Court to enforce the fulfillment of their contracts. We will respond in accordance with the law and principles.”
According to the reports, the complaint submitted by SM contains the content that they can no longer tolerate Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin’s unreasonable behavior, and thus, they are filing a complaint to request that the terms of their agreement be fulfilled as a primary step.
Earlier on June 10, representatives of EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin held a press conference claiming, “SM Entertainment disregarded the negotiated terms that were the premise of the agreement.”
Later that day, SM Entertainment released a lengthy statement refuting the allegations that were made at the press conference, stating, “The essence of this entire incident is the unfair inducement (tampering) by MC Mong and Cha Ga Won toward our artists,” and, “CBX are enjoying the rights/benefits as EXO members but ignoring promises/obligations.”
