Taiwanese actor Aaron Yan was given a seven-month suspended prison sentence for filming and leaking intimate videos of then-minor influencer Raku.
In its verdict on Thursday (May 30), the Shilin District Court determined that Yan, 39, had recorded sex tapes with a minor with an intention of distributing them.
In lieu of his prison sentence, Yan has the option to pay a daily fine of NT$1,500 (RM217) and remain on probation for the next three years.
Throughout this period, Yan will be under supervision and must adhere to the conditions established with Raku in their settlement earlier in March.
While the settlement amount was not disclosed due to confidentiality reasons, reports alleged it reached up to NT$7mil (RM1mil).
Following the sentence – which can be appealed – Yan issued a statement through his management company Rise And Shine, where he thanked the judge for their clear judgement and taking note of his “sincere self-reflection”.
Last June, Raku claimed on social media that he started a sexual relationship with Yan in 2017, when he was 16 and the former was 31.
Raku also accused Yan of non-consensual intercourse, recording intimate videos of them without his consent and leaking the tapes.
In response to the allegation, Yan said the videos could have been leaked after he sent his mobile phone for repair.
He also crashed Raku’s press conference to apologise to the influencer.
