Lee Hyori gives up on natural pregnancy, ‘No to IVF, it’s too late’
On the premiere episode of JTBC’s ‘Mom, Shall We Travel Alone?’ aired on the 26th, Lee Hyori shared candid thoughts about her mother’s persistent hints about having children.

During a pre-trip interview, Lee’s mother expressed pride in her daughter, describing her as a well-behaved child who entered the entertainment industry through her own efforts. However, Lee humorously noted that her relationship with her mother felt more like they were strangers, with few shared memories beyond her childhood.
Despite her mother’s desire for a closer relationship, Lee’s busy schedule in the entertainment industry often kept them apart, leading to feelings of distance. Lee mentioned that she had swapped roles with her mother, feeling somewhat awkward and distant, which she hoped to remedy by traveling together.
During their trip to Gyeongju, as they encountered children recognizing Lee, her mother expressed pride in having a famous daughter, which was not inconvenient for her. When Lee observed a group of children, she remarked wistfully about wishing she had a daughter of her own, prompting her mother to express her desire for a grandchild.
However, Lee revealed that she had given up on the idea of pregnancy, saying, “It’s too late now.” Her mother lamented, suggesting that Lee should try as hard as others before giving up. To this, Lee responded that she did not want to resort to IVF, while her mother continued to express her disappointment, emphasizing the lengths one should go to for a child.
