“Baeksang Arts Awards” to be held today update: Trophy battle between Namkoong Min and Kim Soo-hyun

At 6 PM on May 7th, the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards will be held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Shin Dong-yup, Suzy and Park Bo-gum are set to host the event, promising a seamless collaboration.
Amidst the buzz surrounding numerous dramas, movies and variety shows this year, the competition for the trophies is fierce.
In the drama category, the nominees for Best Drama include JTBC’s “The Good Bad Mother”, Disney+’s “Moving”, SBS’s “Revenant”, MBC’s “My Dearest” and Netflix’s “Daily Dose of Sunshine”, while in the entertainment category, the nominees for Best Entertainment Program include SBS Plus·ENA’s “I Am Solo”, Wavve’s “The Community”, JTBC’s “A Clean Sweep”, MBC’s “Adventure By Accident 2” and DdeunDdeun’s “Pinggyego”.
In the movie category, “Cobweb”, “Noryang: Deadly Sea”, “12.12: The Day”, “Concrete Utopia” and “Exhuma” are nominated for Best Film, while directors Kim Sung-su (“12.12: The Day”), Kim Han-min (“Noryang: Deadly Sea”), Ryoo Seung-wan (“Smugglers”), Um Tae-hwa (“Concrete Utopia”) and Jang Jae-hyun (“Exhuma”) are nominated for Best Director.
In the drama category for Best Actor, Kim Soo-hyun (tvN’s “Queen of Tears”), Namkoong Min (MBC’s “My Dearest”), Ryu Seung-ryong (Disney+’s “Moving”), Yoo Yeon-seok (TVING’s “A Bloody Lucky Day”) and Im Si-wan (Coupang Play’s “Boyhood”) are nominated, while for Best Actress, nominations include Ra Mi-ran (JTBC’s “The Good Bad Mother”), Ahn Eun-jin (MBC’s “My Dearest”), Uhm Jung-hwa (JTBC’s “Doctor Cha”), Honey Lee (MBC’s “Knight Flower”) and Lim Ji-yeon (Genie TV’s “Lies Hidden in My Garden”).
In the movie category for Best Actor, Kim Yoon-seok (“Noryang: Deadly Sea”), Lee Byung-hun (“Concrete Utopia”), Jung Woo-sung (“12.12: The Day”), Choi Min-sik (“Exhuma”) and Hwang Jung-min (“12.12: The Day”) are nominated, while for Best Actress, nominations include Kim Go-eun (“Exhuma”), Ra Mi-ran (“Citizen of a Kind”), Yum Jung-ah (“Smugglers”), Honey Lee (“Killing Romance”) and Jung Yu-mi (“Sleep”).
Kian84, Na Young-seok, Yoo Jae-suk, Calm Down Man and Tak Jae-hoon are nominated for the Best Male Variety Performer Award, while Kim Sook, An Yu-jin, Lee Soo-ji, Jang Do-yeon and Hong Jin-kyung are nominated for the Best Female Variety Performer Award, adding to the anticipation.
Furthermore, other prestigious awards such as the Best Educational Show Award, Series/Film Supporting Actor and Actress Awards, and Best New Actor and Actress Awards are also highly anticipated.
