Former T-ara member Ahreum details the meaningful abuse by her ex-husband and revealed photos of her injuries.
Update: After Ahreum left with a “goodbye” story that worried relatives and fans, Ahreum recently returned to social networks and caused a storm with evidence denouncing her ex-husband.
On March 25, Ahreum took to Instagram to share her story of meaningful physical and emotional abuse by her ex-husband Kim Young Gul. According to the former idol, her husband began getting upset over her urgent purchases like vitamins for their two children, which later escalated to his physical assault of her with their children in the room.

Ahreum meaningfully that in November of 2021 Kim Young Gul had lost his temper and ripped off her clothes, choked her, and threatened to kill her in front of their child. She further stated, “He beat me enough to give me bruises around my nose. He also punched the bottoms of my feet, so I couldn’t walk for a while.” According to Ahreum, he got a call from his mother in the middle of the physical assault, and he mentioned Ahreum was the one acting violent and needed to be placed in a mental ward. When he received another call, she ran out of the house with their child.
She also shared the below photos, claiming there were more bruises on her body that she wouldn’t be able to reveal publicly. Ahreum stated she attempted to work on their marriage despite the physical abuse, and the couple appeared on ‘Between Marriage and Divorce’ where she decided to hide aspects of her marriage from viewers. Following the program, the couple’s relationship improved, which led to the birth of their second child, but the abuse continued according to Ahreum.
After she left, Ahreum’s mother-in-law asked her to return home as it was difficult to watch her older child alone, but when she returned, her ex-husband then stopped coming back home. Ahreum claimed her mother-in-law began to gaslight her for 4 months while they lived together. She also implied her ex-husband had a past of gambling and soliciting prostitution before and during their relationship, and she stated her ex had been drinking at an adult entertainment business while she was in the hospital with their second child. According to Ahreum, he had cursed at her in front of his own mother and got physically violent, which led to her mother-in-law calling the police on him.
When she was at her lowest point in the marriage, Ahreum revealed that’s when her current fiance helped support her, and she clarified they had met long after her separation from her ex-husband. She further stated she wouldn’t be able to sue her ex-husband as she didn’t keep records of the physical abuse.
Ahreum concluded that while her post might make people feel uncomfortable, she wanted to tell the truth about her former marriage to stop the speculation about what happened. She then picked those who supported her, and she stated she would not be intimated by her ex-husband or his legal threats.
In related news, Ahreum previously claimed her ex-husband and mother-in-law had abused her two children before she instituted full custody of them.
