The owner of the meme dog that appeared in Han So Hee’s controversial dating post spoke up.
Recently, the dog in the meme used by Han So Hee during her recent controversy went viral and garnered much attention online.
Last week, the internet was abuzz after a feud started between two popular actresses – Hyeri and Han So Hee – after there were rumors that Han So Hee was dating Ryu Jun Yeol, Hyeri’s ex-boyfriend of 8 years.
The feud came to light on social media when Hyeri updated her Instagram story with the cryptic caption, “Funny,” and went on to unfollow Ryu Jun Yeol. Many took this as Hyeri’s response to the dating rumors that sparked between Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol after the two were spotted in Hawaii together. With the dating rumors between Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol, many speculated that Ryu Jun Yeol was “transfer dating” Han So Hee, which is when a boyfriend/girlfriend begins dating someone while they are in the process of breaking up.
As numerous news articles with the title ‘transfer dating’ flooded the internet, Han So Hee took to her social media to leave a message, which was taken as a direct reply to Hyeri’s Instagram story post. Han So Hee denied that her relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol was a transfer dating and ended the message with “I find it funny too.”
In particular, Han So Hee shared the message with a photo of an adorable dog with his paw on top of a knife, which has been garnering much attention from netizens.
The photo was pixilated and seemed like a photo from many years ago. With much interest in the dog, netizens found more information on the dog in the photo.
According to Hankyung News, the dog’s name is Kangsoe and the news media outlet was able to get in touch with the dog’s owner.
In the interview, Kangsoe’s owner, Park Min Seo (age 31) shared, “Kangsoe is unlike any other dog. He doesn’t like going on walks and he only likes sleeping, like Snorlax. He’s always gentle and follows us well. He’s a really charming dog, so I always knew he would become famous someday.”
Kangsoe’s owner shared that his family adopted Kangsoe in 2009 after they were temporarily fostering him. The family decided to keep Kangsoe and permanently accept him into the family.
Regarding the photo that Han So Hee used, Park Min Seo explained, “The meme photo was taken shortly after we adopted Kangsoe. It was Lunar New Year so all our relatives came over. Amidst the family gathering chaos, Kangsoe, who had recently arrived at our home, was comfortably sitting there. He has such a gentle nature that we put a television remote control on his paw but he stayed still. We had a toy knife at that time so I thought it would be ironically fitting with Kangsoe’s gentle image so I took that photo with the pose.”
Currently, Kangsoe still lives with Park Min Seo and his family, including his siblings and parents.
Park Min Seo revealed that Kangsoe is speculated to be between 15 and 17 years old. He explained, “Kangsoe can’t see too well now, and he has been suffering from diabetes for almost three years. He requires insulin injections twice a day at fixed times, as well as a regulated diet. He underwent cruciate ligament surgery on his left leg and hip dislocation surgery on his right leg.”
Kangsoe’s owner concluded saying, “I anticipate that the remaining time we can spend together might not be very long, but I feel fortunate that Kangsoe has become so popular while he’s still with us. I’m truly grateful to everyone who has shown interest in him.”
