Insiders of Ryu Jun Yeol and Hyeri deny accusations of ‘Breaking up with Hyeri’ to love Han So Hee from February 2023.
“Sources close to the two claim…”
Ryu Jun Yeol and his ex-girlfriend Hyeri have been embroiled in a “love triangle controversy” involving his new squeeze, actress Han So Hee. The situation got complicated when many accused Ryu Jun Yeol of pulling a “transfer” to date Han So Hee. In Korean slang, “transfer” is used to describe the situation where someone breaks up with their significant other to date someone else, or when they move on too quickly.
It was previously claimed by Hyeri in her statement addressing the matter that although the pair officially broke up in November 2023, they had continued to stay in touch. As their relationship was 8 years long, they had agreed to continue talking about the relationship even after the breakup. Later on, she found out through the media that he had begun dating Han So Hee.
Netizens began criticizing Ryu Jun Yeol for leading Hyeri on with false hope. On March 21, 2024, a news report by TV Daily claimed that sources close to both of them had only met up once in 2023. Their relationship had allegedly been on the rocks for a long time, but the official breakup only came in November.
“They only met up just once in the past year. They both simply put off announcing the breakup. They decided to both take time to think about it in February 2023″
According to the sources, they had decided on a break. Even though it was a “break,” it was basically a breakup. Hyeri was also in Geoje to film her movie Victory, and the two grew apart. It was said that their breakup was made a “public secret” in June that year. Ryu Jun Yeol had failed to show up for Hyeri’s birthday, making rumors worse. Rumors hit a peak in July and August 2023, but they had denied the breakup through their agencies in August 2023.
The same sources claim that they had simply “put off a clear answer to the public. This is common amongst longterm relationships. It was hard to publicly acknowledge a breakup as they were a couple for a long time.”
The sources also claimed that although he agreed with Hyeri to talk more about their relationship, it did not mean that he wanted to start up their relationship again.
“It’s not a one-sided breakup. They only met once last year. They had already grown apart. Wouldn’t Hyeri have known that when he said “let’s talk about it more,” it was just a formality? It’s too much to guess that it was a “transfer.”
The Korean news report concludes by claiming that Hyeri should well know that breakup was unproblematic and the issue should be put to rest with the public. They urge netizens to not put Ryu Jun Yeol on the chopping block any longer.
