On January 3, Korean media reported that actor Kang Kyung Joon (To The Beautiful You) was sued for 50 million won (932 million VND) for adultery. It is known that the husband of a woman named A filed a lawsuit, accusing Kang Kyung Joon of being the third person to destroy another person’s family. In response to the accusations, Kang Kyung Joon refused to answer the suspicion of adultery and said he had not received the lawsuit and did not know why this happened.
On January 8, Sports Chosun released a series of intimate text messages between Kang Kyung Joon and his lover. When his lover texted “I miss you”, the actor immediately replied “I want to hug you”. On another occasion, the actor sent a message: “I want to be with you without drinking alcohol. Alcohol is just an excuse.” Kang Kyung Joon even replied “Thinking of you” when asked by his lover what he was doing.
Amid allegations of an extramarital affair, actor Kang Kyung Joon has taken a significant step by deleting his Instagram account and announcing his intent to remain silent.
On January 8 KST, Kang Kyung Joon removed his Instagram account, conveying his intention to stay silent on the matter. If one attempts to access Kang Kyung Joon’s former Instagram address, they will encounter a message stating that the page is unavailable.
These actions come exactly two weeks after Kang Kyung Joon was sued for damages amounting to 50 million won on December 26 KST. At the time, the accuser identified Kang Kyung Joon as the alleged adulterer involved with his spouse.
Kang Kyung Joon’s marital life with Jang Shin Young has been a matter of public knowledge through various television appearances, intensifying the controversy surrounding the alleged affair and casting a shadow over the reputation he has cultivated over the years. Notably, Kang Kyung Joon has not issued any public statement regarding these allegations.
As of now, the only official response has come from Kang Kyung Joon’s former agency, K-Star Global, which released a brief statement. K-Star Global clarified that Kang Kyung Joon’s exclusive contract with them had expired in October 2023, and they had been in discussions to renew it while supporting his appearances on KBS’ ‘The Return of Superman.’ However, due to the ongoing controversy, they have suspended negotiations on extending his contract.
