BlackPink and YG Entertainment have nothing to do with the uploading of the “cow tongue” map by iMe Entertainment!!!
Many Vietnamese fans said they would not buy tickets to BlackPink concert as planned to express their reaction to the organizers of “Born Pink World Tour Hanoi”.
Recently, on Vietnamese social media, there was information about the official website of iMe Entertainment, the organizing unit of the “Born Pink World Tour Hanoi” concert by BlackPink in Hanoi, which displayed the “cow tongue” map on its homepage. This has sparked strong reactions from many Vietnamese fans.
Vietnamese fans should not confuse this issue with BlackPink and their management company, YG Entertainment. Lovekpop95 contacted YG’s representative regarding this matter and was informed that they had no knowledge of it. iMe Entertainment is only an intermediary event organization that won the bid to organize the “Born Pink World Tour Hanoi” concert for BlackPink in Hanoi.
In addition, there is a special historical context related to the consistent policy between South Korea, the United States, and Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, opposing China’s claims in the South China Sea, which include opposing the so-called “cow tongue” line of China.
iMe Entertainment is simply an event organization company with its headquarters in Beijing, China. The company has more than 10 branch offices in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, and Australia. They have organized numerous concerts featuring K-pop artists as well as international artists.
The iMe Entertainment website has announced that it is currently under maintenance, and the link has been removed from their Fanpage.
However, the image of the map has been captured and quickly spread on social media.
In light of this unfortunate and undesired incident, YG Entertainment would like to reiterate that BlackPink has nothing to do with the publication of the “cow tongue” map by iMe Entertainment. We strongly oppose the provocative actions of the Chinese government and the unreasonable support of iMe.
