EXO Kai burst into tears on a livestream after a surprise enlistment announcement.
With only over a week left, fans have to say goodbye to Kai (EXO) for nearly 2 years.
On May 3rd, SM Entertainment suddenly announced that Kai (EXO) will enlist on May 11th. Due to changes in the regulations of the Korean Military Manpower Administration, Kai has to enlist earlier than planned, and he had to withdraw from EXO’s upcoming comeback. After basic training, Kai will serve the community for 21 months.

This news surprised and disappointed fans. On the same night, EXO’s “dancing machine” livestreamed a chat with fans, speaking in the dark and even crying. Kai shared his regret that he had prepared many performances but didn’t have time to perform them for the fans.
When fans expressed their concerns, Kai reassured them that he was just a little tired. He regained his composure and shared, “I’m going to enlist soon. So, I won’t be able to wear bucket hats and cargo pants anymore. Promoting Rover was enjoyable, but it passed quickly. I wish I could do a little more.”
At the end of the livestream, Kai affirmed that he would try to do as much as possible for the fans before leaving. He also promised to work hard and would not be separated from his fans after returning. “Time flies fast, and the time ahead will fly quickly too,” Kai comforted fans who were sad about his enlistment.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the full comeback of all 8 members of EXO, but Kai had to enlist earlier than planned.
