Yoo Ah In Facing Broadcasting Ban from KBS after Drug Scandal
Yoo Ah In’s career has been greatly affected by the drug scandal involving him. The police found evidence of Yoo Ah In using drugs at his home, including propofol, marijuana, ketamine, and cocaine. This has been a hot topic of interest among Korean media and fans.
Recently, many were surprised to hear that Yoo Ah In has been banned from appearing on television by KBS, one of the largest television networks in Korea. KBS was the first to restrict the “controversial figure” from appearing on the small screen.
It is believed that Yoo Ah In will find it difficult to return to the entertainment industry after his drug scandal. A KBS official shared with the media on March 15 that the network has designated “socially controversial behavior due to illegal or unethical behavior” as the target for limiting appearances on their programs. If there are issues with personnel related to this behavior, they will apply measures such as “recommendations not to invite appearances”, “temporary suspension of appearances (in the case of civil or criminal prosecution)”, and “restrictions on appearances in programs” depending on the severity of the issue.
Not only has Yoo Ah In been limited from appearing on programs of one of the largest television networks in Korea, but at the time when he was suspected of using propofol, he was abandoned by several brands and the audience has been actively boycotting and criticizing him. In addition, his role in a production was canceled due to the drug scandal.
