Many brands have removed Yoo Ah In from their ads while he is being urgently investigated by the police, with the possibility of an arrest warrant soon.
Yoo Ah In’s endorsement advertisements are quickly disappearing in response to his ongoing drug use investigation.
According to media reports on February 12 KST, fashion brand platform MUSINSA, which famously used the actor in their campaigns and also fashioned an AI model ‘MU Ah In’ for their service, removed all traces of him from their advertisements. Other companies that have removed Yoo Ah In from their advertisements include outdoor brand NEPA and pharmaceutical brand I’m Vita, who removed images of him from their homepage, YouTube channel, and other branded content.
The controversy has also affected Yoo Ah In’s endorsement relationship with Chinese fashion label CROQUIS, who have also removed all traces of him from their brand.
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that the actor was investigated by police for habitual use of propofol, a psychotropic drug. Investigations showed that Yoo Ah In had been habitually using propofol since early 2021, and he also tested positive for marijuana. The police have since confiscated Yoo Ah In’s mobile phone and started digital forensic work.
