BLACKPINK Jisoo nominated for Best New Actress at the 2022 Blue Dragon Awards
Jisoo’s excellent performance in her debut K-drama “Snowdrop” has earned her an acting nomination
BLACKPINK Jisoo, or actress Kim Jisoo, has recently been announced as a nominee for “Best New Actress” at the 2022 Blue Dragon Series Awards, thanks to her spectacular acting as the female lead Eun Youngro of “Snowdrop”. Meanwhile, “Snowdrop” was also nominated for the Best Drama Award at the same ceremony.
“Blue Dragon Series Awards” is held for the first time in 2022, where notable names within the Korean drama and variety realms will be honored. This award ceremony will also be the first in Korea to have a category for OTT series.
Online voting for the “Blue Dragon Series Awards” will be announced in the near future, while the award ceremony will be held on July 19th, 2022, at the Incheon Paradise Hotel.
The K-drama “Snowdrop”, which was released in December 2021, is Jisoo’s first time assuming a major role, after several cameos in “The Producers” and “Arthdal Chronicles”. In the series, the idol-actress has delivered an excellent portrayal of female lead Eun Youngro, and provided an extensive range of emotions, from budding love, hatred, to despair.
“Snowdrop”, which stars various famous actors including Jisoo, Jung Hae In, Kim Min Kyu, Yoo In Na, Kim Hye Yoon, and so on, was once embroiled in controversies due to alleged “historical distortion”, but aired smoothly. The series received great acclaims from the public and critics alike.
