Viewers complain and rage at the ending of the drama “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”
The viewers poured out complaints about the ending of the drama “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”, which was called a ‘lifetime drama’ at the beginning of its broadcast.
The final broadcast of tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”, which ended on April 3rd, revealed the last appearance of the Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk) and Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) Couple.
In the broadcast, 25-year-old Baek Yi-jin and 21-year-old Na Hee-do broke up because they were all tired of their long-distance relationship. Na Hee-do said to Baek Yi-jin, “It’s just that this love isn’t supporting me anymore. We’re making things difficult by blaming one another. I want it to stop”.
Later, Na Hee-do’s diary, which Baek Yi-jin left to the owner of the comic book store, was returned to its original owner through her daughter Kim Min-chae (Choi Myung-bin).
Looking back on the diary that she wrote in her young days, Na Hee-do (Kim So-hyun) in her 40s delivered her last farewell, saying, “I learned what love is, thanks to you. Now I know what a breakup is. Thank you. I have loved you with all my heart. Goodbye, Baek Yi-jin”. Baek Yi-jin also replied, “You will have no idea how much your love has brightened up my life. Goodbye, Na Hee-do”.
Na Hee-do said, “I had thought love and friendship were mine to have for a brief moment. Looking back, every day was a practice. The moment I dared to say everything would last forever. I loved living in that illusion. Right, there was still one thing that we could have. That summer was ours to keep”, recalling the past memories they had together.
In the end, Na Hee-do had to face a breakup without a twist. Na Hee-do’s husband, who is Kim Min-chae’s father, was not revealed. The viewers exploded with anger when Na Hee-do’s husband, who had been mentioned again and again since the beginning of the drama, did not appear. The fact that this drama was so well-received for its attractive characters and solid stories, many people were even more disappointed about this ending.
The post about “Twenty-five, Twenty-one” recently posted on the online community Theqoo under the title “The drama, which airs its final episode today, receives the worst reactions” was full of the viewers’ complaints. Theqoo users showed negative responses, saying, “This is the worst ending ever”, “This drama comforted and made me happy at first. But now I don’t even understand why I could watch it until the end”, “If it was a well-written sad ending, the reactions wouldn’t be like this”, “This ending is really an anticlimax ending”, etc.
Meanwhile, “Our Blues” will premiere at 9:10 p.m on April 9th as the follow-up show to “Twenty-five, Twenty-one”.
